Infomation:
I'm Ricks son and have been playing drums from an early age.

I am studying the BTEC National Diploma in music practice at Bury College. And I have been in a several bands over the past year but left due to a whole series of reasons. Some of these bands were: Self Elimination, Ever Epic and Pyroinsania. I am currently in 3 bands:
Joon
Joon are a 4 piece band that has been together for 3 years or so playing 80's pop/cheese. Influences include bands such as Journey, Queen, Toto and Rush. We do a mixture of covers and originals depending on the gig. The band consists of Olly Kraweckyj on lead vocals and synthesizers, John Clapper on lead guitars and backing vocals, Nic Southwood on bass and backing vocals and myself on drums. I know Olly and Nic from college and have always respected them as musicians so I was extremely pleased when they asked me to audition for them. We have high hopes for the future and are gigging regularly. We are also one of the house bands at the Hard Rock Café Manchester. Visit http://www.myspace.com/joonrock for more gig information
Defiant
I first found this band over Christmas 2007. They were looking for a drummer with influences such as Iron Maiden and Metallica etc. Being similar influences to myself, I got in contact and joined the band. Since then we have played venues such as the Academy 3 and play a mixture of original material and covers. The band consists of Ben Freestone on guitar and lead vocals, John Humphreys on bass, Tom Kennelly on guitar and myself on drums. Visit http://www.myspace.com/defianttheband for more info.
Rubix
I joined these a few months ago after the guitarist, John, got in touch with me. We are a 3 piece rock/progressive band
our influences are: Biffy Clyro, Oceansize, The Mars Volta, Muse etc, consisting of John on vocals and guitar and Jim on bass. Go to www.myspace.com/rubixonline for more info. We are writing our new material and hoping to go out gigging around Bolton and Manchester, and then places like London and Glasgow.

Drummers I've met:
I enjoy going to drummers clinics. The first clinic I went to was with Steve Smith at the Comedy Store in Manchester. This was a whole new experience for me because until then I never knew that drummers did clinics and showed other drummers what they could do in their technique and style.
The second clinic I went to was with Gregg Bisonette and Zoro .My Dad and I went and saw this double clinic in July 2003, which I thought was amazing, about their techniques and what they play, We also bought Zoro's new book 'The Commandments Of R&B Drumming' which I'm still reading. With this being my second clinic I had more of an idea about what to expect and what to listen for.

With Greg Bissonnette (2003)

With Zoro (2003)
I am hoping to see Terry Bozzio's drum clinic with his weird but tasty new DW kit!!!
I have been asked by numerous people in my school to be in their band, but I have had to say no to most of them.
I am hoping to find a proper decent band to join before I leave school - and to carry on gigging after I have left school.
I would really like to be a professional musician.
